Google makes it simple to set up SafeSearch on any web device or browser. Additionally, you can easily configure parental controls on your kids\u2019 devices and even some routers!<br><br>To enable SafeSearch on Google, simply <strong>head to the Google homepage, click your Google profile image<\/strong> which should be located to the right of your window next to the Google Apps icon. For Android, you\u2019ll find parental controls in the Google Play Store app. Once you\u2019re <strong>in the Google Play Store app, go to Settings &gt; Family &gt; Parental controls<\/strong> and then <strong>turn it on<\/strong>. You\u2019ll then be able to select restrictions for each kind of content.<br><br>For iPhone, go to <strong>Settings &gt; Screen Time &gt; Content &amp; Privacy Restrictions<\/strong> then <strong>slide the toggle across to enable.<\/strong> Now you can go through and set-up restrictions for content and privacy.<br><br>Finally, you may also be able to use your router to set up Parental Controls. For example, <a href=\"https:\/\/geeksonwheels.co.nz\/services\/internet-and-wi-fi-solutions\/\">TP-Link Decos<\/a> have a parental control feature so you can create profiles for each person in the house. However, there can be too much of a good thing.<br><br>When considering internet safety for kids, setting up screen time limits on their devices is an excellent way to enforce rules and boundaries. Requiring no extra effort on your part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On iPhone, go to <strong>Settings &gt; Screen Time<\/strong> then go through and <strong>customise your child\u2019s usage limits. <\/strong>You might worry that your child could easily change these settings. However, with Screen Time, you can lock your settings. Just <strong>tap Lock Screen Time Settings<\/strong> then <strong>set up a passcode<\/strong> that your child won\u2019t know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Android, go to <strong>Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Digital Wellbeing and parental controls<\/strong> &gt; <strong>App timers<\/strong>. Select the apps you\u2019d like to set limits for, then <strong>tap<\/strong> <strong>Set timer<\/strong>. Choose the days of the week and how long you\u2019d like the timer to be active. Therefore, it&#8217;s important that your kids are prepared.<br><br><em>Some basic internet safety for kids include\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Don\u2019t trust anything too good to be true (freebies, extremely cheap high-value items)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t provide personal information over the phone or over message<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t click on any links sent to you via email or message<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always ask an adult if you\u2019re unsure about the legitimacy or appropriateness of content.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t accept friend requests from people you don\u2019t know. Ultimately don\u2019t trust strangers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Try to make sure people online are who they say they are. Even family members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don\u2019t buy things without your parents permission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Block and report online bullies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have strong and unique passwords for each of your online accounts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Above all, remind your kids to be very cautious online. Are they age appropriate? What kind of content is shared or available on the platform? Does it have privacy settings that can protect your child\u2019s personal information?&nbsp;<br><br>We recommend downloading the apps and visiting the sites your children use.
