On September 9th, Apple unveiled the highly anticipated iPhone 16<\/a>. This was alongside the new AirPods 4 and Apple Watch 10! In this blog, we\u2019re diving into the standout iPhone 16 Features. Across its basic, plus, and pro models. So, if you’re in the market for a new smartphone and considering the iPhone 16, you’ll have all the information you need right here. Price and Availability <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To begin with, let\u2019s look into how much the iPhone 16 models are worth! First up, the basic iPhone 16 will cost you from $1599 NZD<\/em><\/strong>, whereas the iPhone 16 Plus, with a larger display will cost you from $1,799 NZD. But, if you really want the best in the game, you\u2019ll have to splash out on the iPhone 16 Pro. This is priced from $1,999 NZD. Or if you want something even better, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be priced from $2,399 NZD.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But when is it all available to actually purchase? Well if you\u2019re wanting to pre-order your iPhone 16, you\u2019ll be able to do this at exactly 12:00am NZST on September 14th<\/sup>. After that, general purchasing will be available from September 20th<\/sup>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colours and Display <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now let\u2019s get into the design of the iPhone 16 models. Well first up, both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus come with the following colour options. White, black, teal, \u201cultramarine\u201d and pink!<\/em><\/strong> Whereas the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max has its own collection of colours. These include white titanium, darker titanium, natural titanium and a brown coloured desert titanium.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Size wise, the basic iPhone 16 will have a 6.1-inch display<\/em><\/strong>. The plus will offer a little more surface area with a 6.7-inch display. On the other hand, the pro models will offer both a 6.3-inch display as well as a whopping 6.9-inch display for its max version \u2013 the largest iPhone display ever!<\/em><\/strong> Apple also stated that the devices included the thinnest borders yet!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lifespan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When we invest a significant amount in a phone, we understandably expect it to last. Apple claims to have introduced features that will make all of the iPhone 16 models the most durable and long-lasting iPhones yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

iPhone 16 will offer a sturdy, aerospace-grade aluminium enclosure with glass that is two times tougher than any other smartphone glass!<\/em><\/strong> Plus, with a new internal design, the iPhone 16 will dissipate heat more effectively. This will prevent over-heating causing damage to your devices battery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And, speaking of your smartphone\u2019s battery, across all of the models on one end you\u2019ll get up to 22 hours video playback for the basic iPhone 16<\/em><\/strong>. On the other you\u2019ll get a massive 33 hours video playback for the iPhone 16 Pro Max!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camera control<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s dive into one of the most exciting iPhone 16 features: Camera Control! With a new button added to the side of your iPhone, you\u2019ll be able to quickly, easily and efficiently access and manage your camera controls!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll just have to click the button once to open the camera app, lightly press the button to access controls like zoom, then click it once more to take a photo! So with this ultimate iPhone 16 feature, the need to tap menus and modes on your screen will be completely eliminated! How cool is that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, cool side feature. If you click the Camera Control button and point your camera towards\u2026 let\u2019s say a nearby restaurant, your iPhone 16 will pull up information such as reviews, the menu and how to make a reservation! Awesome!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camera quality <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of the camera related iPhone 16 features, we\u2019ll also be seeing an improvement in the camera and video quality of this new range! With a two-in-one 48MP Fusion camera you\u2019ll take super high resolution photos<\/em><\/strong> and with 2x optical-quality and the Ultra Wide camera, you\u2019ll be able to shoot extreme close-up photos, or wider more expansive photos!<\/em> <\/strong>As stated by Apple, it is \u201clike having four lenses in your pocket!\u201d.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, and if you\u2019re going to purchase the iPhone 16 Pro, expect the smartphone to capture 4K 120 frames per second videos. It will also record spatial audio with reduced background noise!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Siri enhancement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The iPhone 16 range is built with AI in mind. So, you can assume that the role Apple\u2019s digital assistant, Siri, plays has greatly improved! Plus, you can also say \u201cHey Siri, please send \u2018Mum\u2019 the photos I took in Wellington yesterday\u201d and Siri will understand how to do just that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, let\u2019s talk about the iPhone 16\u2019s new A18 chip!<\/em><\/strong> It\u2019s two generations ahead of the iPhone 15\u2019s A16 Bionic chip. Plus it\u2019s custom built for Apple Intelligence<\/em><\/strong>,<\/em> Apple\u2019s personal intelligence system, which we should be seeing in December of this year! \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summed up by Apple, the new Apple Intelligence system will help you \u201cwrite, express yourself, and get things done effortlessly.\u201d For example, it will provide writing tools for proofreading, summarising and re-writing<\/em><\/strong> and it will help you prioritise messages in the Mail app<\/em><\/strong>. You\u2019ll also get some very advanced privacy protections<\/em><\/strong>. Letting you feel confident that your data is always in the right hands, aka your own, not even Apples!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
